The nasty things that grow alongside rivers...

Stinging netttles

Stinging netttles, poison ivy, mosquitos. What is it with rivers and things that irritate your skin and make you itch?

Im off to visit Lisa Ponty down on the south coast in Titchfield. Awesome!

  2. We have stinging nettles in Texas and they leave a nasty "puss pot" on your skin. Ouch, they hurt! I have a question about the zucchini shreds you freeze. Do you freeze raw and just shredded? Then do you take them out for zucchini bread later? I wish I had known this little trick years ago when Jim grew too many hills of this veggie!! I made casseroles, dressing, bread, and gave more to all my neighbors. Thanks for the tip in case I have any more in the future. (Why didn't I think of that????)

  3. Hey Sherry
Im honoured and flattered that you would read my blog as well as Summer's! thanks!
I have to confess, Im not sure how the shredded zucchini will turn out. I literally just shredded it (in my food processor, gosh, Ive become lazy!) and put 2 c portions into baggies and whacked them in the freezer. Ive never done this before but we had a friend from OR stay with us over the winter and she told me its what she did. I used to make the bread and freeze it but it takes up so much more room that way. I was considering getting one of the bags out (despite the fact that there are fresh zucchini around) to see if it works before I put hundreds of baggies of it in the freezer to find out that its horrid! So Ill do that when I get back and post about it! It will be a kitchen challenge! I love those! Oh and I was hoping for the peaches freezer recipe that Summer said was JPs favourite, I was thinking about giving it a go now that I have this new found love of peaches!
